Book Review: A.D. The Bible Continues: The Book of Acts

To be honest, when I selected this book for review, I was not entirely sure what the book was. I thought it could be a novelization of the tv show, or possibly something to be read along with the show. However, I was wrong! This book is actually the New Living Translation of the book of Acts with added notes from Dr. David Jeremiah. It is the story of Jesus' followers and how the church began. It describes their hardships and their successes, their persecution and their sacrifice.

A.D. The Bible Continues: The Book of Acts was an easy read and quite understandable. Though I do not normally use the New Living Translation when reading my Bible, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it in this book. It provided an easy flow and different insights to the book of Acts.

The tv show has given millions the chance to see the book of Acts played out. Now, this book is giving us yet another view point. I would definitely recommend this book even if you have already read through Acts or if the New Living Translation is not your preferred translation. The notes from Dr. David Jeremiah give insights to the key characters in Acts, and the translation makes the book easy to read.
This book is for those who have been Christians a long time and desire to study the Bible, and for those who are brand new Christians and are eager to learn more about their faith.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for review purposes from Tyndale House.
